Good morning. A DuBois woman faces a criminal homicide charge following a fatal 2024 drug overdose. City police arrested forty-year-old Stacey Lee Miller Ellis, alleging she supplied the lethal dose of fentanyl that killed her boyfriend, Bryan Cieleski. Investigators say toxicology reports, text messages, and DNA evidence on a stamp bag tied Ellis directly to the drugs. Police allege Ellis intentionally provided the fentanyl following a hostile domestic argument. Her preliminary hearing is set for Wednesday.Meanwhile, a new monument in DuBois City Park marks a historic double milestone for the community. The black granite monument features a bronze Liberty Bell inlay and was just installed at the veterans memorial site. Local leaders say it celebrates America’s two-hundred-and-fiftieth anniversary and stands as a permanent symbol of unity following the official consolidation of Sandy Township and the City of DuBois. A public dedication ceremony is scheduled for July seventh. And sixth graders at Hickory Grove Elementary in Brookville just wrapped up a two-decade local tradition. The sixth-grade wing was completely transformed into Ellis Island for the school's annual immigration simulation. Dressed in period clothing, students assumed historical identities, converted currency, and answered tough questions from parents and teachers acting as officials. Educators say the immersive experience teaches students far more than standard history books. For more news, download the radioNOVO app. I’m Codi Gaboff, radioNOVO News, a service of Seven Mountains Media.
